All Theraroma essential oils are therapeutic grade. We sell our essential oils in 10 and 5 ml bottles with a dropper reducer top. The reducer top allows you to measure your oils drop by drop and is also a safety precaution so that oils cannot be ingested accidentally. Nearly every oil is organic, wildcrafted or cultivated without chemicals (which means oils are tested for chemical residue and come from organic, though not certified farms). All oils are 100% pure, uncut and unadulterated essential oils straight from the plant. Very expensive or thick oils are diluted to 10% strength in jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil to make them easier to work with and/or more affordable and are clearly marked as such. We use jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil as they do not go rancid and nourish the skin. All essential oils are very concentrated, powerful substances and must be diluted prior to use. Only a small subset of oils are considered safe to use during pregnancy and early childhood. These are safe when used in diffusion or in baths or topical application at 1% strength or less (infants .25%). Oils generally considered safe for children are: lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus smithii, mandarin, sweet orange and rose. Oils generally considered safe for pregnancy (consult your doctor prior to use) are: Palmarosa, Cardamom, Sandalwood, Ylang-ylang, Patchouli, Rosewood, Lemon, Grapefruit, Bergamot and other citrus oils. Phototoxic oils should not be applied topically before exposure to sunlight. Citrus oils (except for Bergamot-UV safe) and Ginger are considered phototoxic. If you have high blood pressure, it is wise to avoid these oils, especially for repeated or high dosage use: Rosemary, Peppermint, Cypress, Clove Bud, Juniper Berry, Thyme and Spike Lavender
